Mt. Naupa

Mt. Naupa is a developing tourist spot in the southside of Cebu. It is located in the City of Naga. Reaching the drop off point which is the chapel at Brgy. Cogon is easy peasy. All adventurers need to do is ride a motocycle at Sitio Rikio. Fare is around 40-50 php as of this writing. And that's a one way fare only.

Basically, the journey goes like this:
1. If you are from the metro, take any multicab  going to the City of Naga, Cebu or a minibus going south. Inform the driver ahead of your detination which is Sitio Rikio.
2. Get down at Sitio Rikio to ride habal2x going to the drop off point. Landmark is Park n' Go bakeshop and that is located on the right side of the road. Estimated time of travel heading to the chapel is around 25 minutes.
3. Start your trek at Brgy. Cogon chapel. There will be kids offering to be your guide. It's not a must but I suggest to get one especially if it's  your first time trekking Mt. Naupa. Trekking time: 1 hour - 1.5 hours.

This dog got excited  when he saw us. I bet he's  used to trekkers already.

This is Mt. Naupa's base camp. The trek was dehydrating! Hahaha. Dont forget to put on lotion with a good SPF and of course bring along water too!

We literally owned Mt. Naupa for a good hour. Haha. We were the only trekkers there. We arrived around 2:45 in the afternoon. The heat was scorching. Umbrellas would have been a help since there are very rare shady areas.

Mt. Naupa's peak. We actually rested in the midpart of that hill. It was the only shady area I could see. 😂

Picture picture! 😆😆😆

'Owning' the place was pretty awesome. We could do whatever pose we wanted to and scream our lungs out. The downside was the struggle in taking our pictures together. We had not brought à selfie stick with us so we had to do some tricks. Glad that most photos came out just fine. Hahaha.

This tree reminds me of the hit Korean movie 'My Sassy Girl'.

Buti pa si mountain, boobsie. 😂😂😂

Climbing up was exhausting because you have to carry your body. It requires a good exercise and training. Glad that I did some jogging  and walking exercises before going there. Climbing down was for the most part, challenging for me bacause the pathways are kinda rocky and really inclined. There was a time I had to sit while going down because I was  afraid that if I stood up, there would be a higher chance of me slipping.

Those slim pathways were also a challenge. The right side is a ravine. Not too deep though but still scary.

Anyhow, the trail is pretty good for adventure seekers. Out of 3 mountains in Cebu (Manunggal, Osmeña, Naupa) I've trekked, the trail to Naupa was the most challenging. I'm  just happy it didn't  rain. It would have been double the scare factor  if the soil was wet since it would be obviously  slippery.

Weird

It's been days that the idea of deactivating all of my social media networks is haunting me. The feeling finally sank in. Just deactivated my FB and viber. I still dont know how to deactivate my IG. I am doubtful in deactivating my twitter acct since I need a space where  I can vent everything out in counted charcters. Hehe. I have thoughts of activating FB and viber but this time I dont know when. As for the reason why I did such thing, most probably it would be for me to move on, get a life and focus more on things  that truly  matter. Ja, I know youre my only reader here. I provided you the wrong  email add. The correct one is: polaris.03200@gmail.com

Weekend getaway

I had a very good and memorable weekend  with my friends. I am glad that we have reunited after a year or so of not seeing one another. 

We spent our mini reunion/vacation in Voda Krasna Resort and in Narra Park which are both in Alcoy, a southern province in Cebu.

We're all in a budget so we had to make our own lineup of activities.

Here's our itinerary:
Day 1:
9:00AM- Meet up at South Bus Terminal to ride bus going to Alcoy. Fare was 140 php
12:00-1:00-Arrived at Alcoy Public Market then rode tricycle going to Voda Krasna. Fare was 7-10 php.
1:15- Decided to eat as we make up our minds on where to spend overnight, whether Voda or Narra park. Local eateries were scarce around Voda. We had no choice but to feast over siomai and puso.
2:00- Checked in at Voda Krasna. We stayed overnight in a cottage.  It cost us 2500. Price was reasonable.
2:00-4:00- SWIMMING TIME
4:15-5:00- locals recommended their boating activity for 30 php per 30 mins. Not bad. We still enjoyed even tho there was not much to see underwater because of the waves.
5:30- Decided to eat out since resort food were really pricey. Hehe. We ate at their public market. We enjoyed their local roasted chicken. . We spent 87 per pax only.
6:00-12:00 mn- swim, chitchat time, sleep

Day 2
5:00 - Woke up to see Mr.Sun
6:00-8:30 - More picture taking
9:00- Ate breakfast at Voda Krasna Restaurant.
10:00 - Checked  out and went to Narra Park via tricycle. Tricycle fee: 50 php
10:30 - Arrived at Narra  Park. Entrance fee: 120 php per pax, 50 php of it is consumable. 
11:00-12:30 - SWIMMING, PICTURE  TAKING
12:30- Ate Ice Cream and Fries. Used our consumable 300 php. So, we just basically added 350 since their fries cost 75 per serving and we ordered 4.
1:00-2:00 - KARAOKE TIME 5 php per song only. 
2:00-3:00 - More Swimming and Picture taking before heading home
4:00 - Went back to city. Fare: 101-120php depending on your drop off area. 

Picture before swimming

Aww lovely seashore.

Jumpshot take 1

Jumpshot take 2. I look like a flying penguin. Hahaha.

Yogis. 

The cottage we stayed overnight has one room. The smaller one is the room. It has one wall fan.

Boating. ☺

Swam in the middle of the sea. No corals and fish were absent because it was kinda windy and there were little waves too.

But, swimming with my friends was more than enough. And to think, this activity only cost us 30 php. Really damn cheap. 

Sunrise the following morning.

Right side of our cottage.

Their Tuna sandwich at 170 php. Fries were good. Pure potatoes. Love it.

This is one of their villas. I guess it's around 5000 per night.

Our Voda Krasna Stay.

The architectural  design of the rooms were really well thought of and the cottages on top of a rock is a great idea. I love how the villas look like Americanized too because of their high ceiling. They also have these sun bathing chairs and table right outside their two villas.

Their food was pretty okay but a bit costly. I suggest eating at one of the local eateries in their public market if your trip is on a budget. 

Although, the stay in this resort was more expensive  than staying in Narra Park, I still have no regrets of staying here since I really enjoyed listening to the sound of the waves at night. It was really awesome.  It was indeed stress relieving.

Panorama of Narra Park's pool.

Narra Park is owned by a German National. The area is really huge. They have more amenities compared to Voda. They have pool, badminton  court, volleyball court, karaoke, restaurant  and they also have shuttle service since the resort is located on a mountain. It is 3 kilometers away from the highway.

I highly recommend  this place since it is really affordable. They have 999/room for overnight, good for 4 pax and additional 200 for additional person.  They have huge selection of food. They also serve German food. I would love to go back and bring my family there because the place is very private and so good for just reflecting  and getting away from city's noise. 
I
Note: I'll be posting more pictures later since I don't have much photos of our stay in Narra Park on my phone.

More photos on our stay at Narra Park.

Thursdays In The Park

Alright alright. I judged the book and bought it because of its cover (And because of its price.hehe) Isn't it cute? It's easy to tell that it is a romance novel.  I bought it at a very marked down price. Woo-hoo!  I love thrift book shops!

Once I read this, it'll be my first time to read a romantic novel with 60 year old lead characters.  Hehe.

I'm currently reading 'Proof of Heaven' so my review for this book will be a little later since I still need to read this too.

1/2 Failed #AlindogProject

I wasn't able to exercise much. 😡 It's the main reason why I lost 2 kg only.

This is a late update on my weight loss. I prepared a 30-day weight loss program but too bad, I wasn't able to stick with the planned activities primarily because of my busy schedule. I know, I know... I shouldn't be making excuses. My bad. I feel really bad not being able to lose the amount of kilograms I had on my goal. It was supposedly a minimum of 4 kg. But, I only lost 2 kg. On a positive note tho, it's still considered progress since I didn't gain. I just hope I'll be able to lose more weight on my new weekly weight loss program.

I know from the very beginning that this journey is going to be tough. It will be a challenge and I have no intentions of giving up.  I'll maybe fail on my plans, but def I'm going to rise and start another routine. I won't give up! This is it! So now, I've opted to do weekly routines and weekly updates as well so that I can monitor my weight more. Thanks to my friend, Java, who uses this kind of technique and eventually convinced me to do so. I think it'll be exciting to weigh in every Sunday and check whatever the progress is. 😊

Celebrating Bianca's 25th birthday here on Earth

Last night, I went to Toledo City together with my college friends to celebrate Bianca's would-have-been 25th birthday here on Earth. Lucky her because she's going to stay 21 years young in eternity. Unfortunate us because we miss her in this earthly life so badly.

The travel going to Cantabaco (The town's name) was somewhat scary during night time. We rode a Vhire which costs around 70php per pax - really affordable. My friends met up at Citilink which is a terminal in Cebu. I, on the other hand just waited for them at a public market near our place since it was along the way towards our destination.

Most parts of the road going there was already paved which is really good however, it was somewhat dark,. But despite that, I can still see that there is a ravine right next to my window. Haha. Thank God for the ever skilled drivers who are always alert and who seemed to have memorized the route already because it was really damn dark. I wish the local government put some lamp posts to avoid  accidents in the future.

I can't recall the exact time that we arrived. I guess the travel took around 2 hours. It was really fast since we took a less traveled route. When we got there, Tito Joe and Tita Alice and other relatives of our friend waited and of course, the sumptuous food on the table too. hehe. The night was filled with laughter as we reminisce beautiful memories. It would have been way better if we were complete with Bianca and with our other two friends who couldn't make because they were busy with work. The other friend we have is in Mindanao, really far so it's hard for her as well to be in this sort of annual activity. But, I know there will be a time that we'll all be together in an activity, God willing.

Banana Cupcake made by Tita Alice. They're the bomb! I think I consumed arounf 10 or even more. I really lost count. Haha.

After some chitchats and watching Kapamilya TV series, we decided to watch movies since Dom brought with him drive with loads of movies. It was really funny because the first movie we opted to watch was really in bad quality. Haha. My friends made fun of him because of it. Good thing, he's always been a good sport. :)

During the following day, we visited our friend's grave and went swimming at a local Spring Park. Then, at around 5 pm, My 2 other friends and I decided to go home since we have scheduled work for the next day.

Our annual photo with Bianx. Glad I was able to make it this year. :)

My eyes feasted on all the shades of green I saw. Haha.

Their reception area. The place was pretty old and I don't think it was well-maintained. I hope someday the owners could so something about it because they really got a big area and it would be better it they'll improve their amenities.

There were baby mosquitoes in the pool.  I would have not swum if  I had seen them earlier. I just saw one when we were about to head home. It was disgusting. Hahaha. Thanks to my good company because the swim was really fun. I missed it for the longest time! But next time, I better do a pool check and always bring extra bra with me so I won't b e going home wearing the wet bra just like what happened on this event. Haha.

Getting ready for lunch by the pool. :)

Enjoying our sweet corn on our way back to Abatayo's residence. Riding a multicab had not been so fun until this, haha.

I really enjoyed my brief vacation at Toledo. It's really nice to live there since the place is full of nature, I see abundant plant life! I love it! I love the place. I love the people even more especially Bianca's immediate family and relatives. They have always been welcoming us really warmly. It feels like we are already part of their family- Yani & Pitang can attest to this, they have been vacationing at their place almost every year. Haha. It's a beautiful feeling to know that somewhere out there, there are people who aren't even related to you by blood and then you can feel this strange beautiful feeling of being connected with them. These are some real treasures that God has given us and we must never fail to appreciate it every freakin' beautiful day of our existence. God, you're awesome!
